Viewing Youtube widget

Youtube widget

User: Jonkeba 10 years ago
New to using any sort of widget, I'm running into problems using the Youtube variety. My widget shows up in Preview but disappears when I publish site changes. I've emptied the browser cache. Incidentally, I put the widget at the bottom of the text block—lower edge of text block cuts through the top half of the widget. Doesn't look like a good place... (I've got a lot of extra, empty space at the bottom of the text block and wasn't able to close it up.)

Attached is a screen shot of how the widget looks in EW before publishing.

Should you need it, here's the url: http://www.abideinpresence.com/omnipresent

Would appreciate some help—without using code if that's possible!
thanks...

p.s. Yes, there's a misspelling of absolute!

Your YouTube movie is working fine for me and the code is correct.

Try another browser or do a Safari reset.

Yes your youtube video works fine for me as well. What browser are you looking at your website in?

Thanks. Chrome and Firefox look good but the video still disappears in Safari—I did reset Safari and also Quit and opened Safari up again. No luck. think I'll try a restart on the iMac and see if that works.

Is there a message such as missing plugin in Safari? Can you show a screenshot of what you see in Safari?

No missing plug in. Did notice that changes that I'd made a while ago—that had been saved and seen in Preview weren't showing up in Safari. Also noticed that Publishing Recent changes wasn't happening and when I tried publish in the entire site it took forever. Makes me think I should put in the very latest version of EW as a replacement. Are you seeing the Youtube video in Safari?

Attached is the Safari screenshot.

Problem solved! It was a Safari issue. Talked to Apple. The Youtube widget worked just fine using a Test Account. So they then had me drag my Safari folder onto the desktop. All's well

Note... On my iPad mini the whole EW site looks fine except for two things...

1.) Last item on Nav bar flips down as if it doesn't have enough room (My background is already pretty wide in the Nav Bar)

2) The Youtube widget—though just right for the iMac—moves up too far and blocks off text above it on the iPad mini.

Does all this mean I have to design something separate for mobile devices—I'm happy with the rest of how EW looks on the Mini.

A mobile website design should be completely different from the tradition one. This section of EverWeb Codebox takes a look at the requirements....
