Viewing Stand Alone Application

Stand Alone Application

I see that this has been asked before...I just want to be sure. I already have a hosting service (Host Excellence). I'm used to using Fetch as my FTP server where I upload. If I publish to a folder (on my HD), I should have any problems in uploading with the FTP server, right? If I purchase the stand alone program (79.99), will I be charged again in the future? Thanks!

Yep... publish to your local folder than upload to your server... It's that easy! That's the way I use it....
To my understanding you pay 79.99 for the app. (with 1 year of updates included) then you pay 49.95 per year to continue to get the updates...

So far so good! Still have some things to work out, but they seem to be progressing....

Thank you so much. The learning curve shouldn't be too steep I hope. I know iWeb really well. (God, I hate to redo my web sites, but iWeb is quickly becoming obsolete). Thanks....Paige

Yeah... Transferring/converting can be a pain!
The learning curve is mostly some things are in different places then you're used to. (not really a big deal) just need to get used to it...
But when it's done it's done and then it's in an app. that will continue to be developed....
Moving my sites to EW has also given me the opportunity to create the (mobile) sites that mine were missing...

Now it's telling me that I do not have an EverWeb "one-click" account. Frustrating.

Getting further...now it says that it could not find a folder to publish to...still working on it.

Create a folder before you do that selection...

You need to select the location you want to publish too. See the Publishing Video for full details on publishing.

Hang on so the upgraded one-click version doesn't have the ability to publish to a folder or other FTP as well? This wasn't clear until after purchase assuming that is the case. I don't need any extra hosting but thought the extra space might come in handy for certain things. Thought I would just be getting the space with a unique url that I could point to as necessary, and not one specifically for my existing domain name. I realize this is PRE-sales, and didn't find the forum until after purchase, but a little advise here would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it does. Create a local folder to publish to and then go to the Site Publishing Settings page to set "Publish To: Folder" and then choose the folder location.

After that it's just a question of uploading the files using an FTP application or, better still, an optimizer…
