| My understanding from iweb is that when I ftp and download a file and change the html and upload it, if a change is made in iWeb and the change is uploaded, the previous change done in html will be excluded from that file. So if we make custom changes to the html it won't hold if iWeb is used to make changes. So, I need to know if EverWeb will overwrite changes that are made directly through the html as opposed to iweb. | |

Unlike iWeb, EverWeb uses true code injection so there is no need to add HTML outside of the application. See this page for more info… http://everwebcodebox.com/code/code-insertion.html Can you give some examples of code that you were having to add to iWeb files post publishing? ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Any opinions expressed in this forum are my own. |

| Hopefully, this explanation will be clearer. If we use a third party to do some extra work on the web site and they don't use EverWeb will their changes hold? We'll also be using a third party vendor to do extensive SEO work and they will be attaching pages to the back end of the web site and additionally, code. Once our third party makes these changes and then, let's say, I make additional changes to the website in EverWeb, will the changes that our third party vendor made still be there once we ftp to update the web site? | |

The SEO they may do to your site would most likely be title tags and meta tags. Those need to be entered within the appropriate fields in EverWeb for them to always be there when you publish. If they make the changes outside of EverWeb, next time you publish those changes won't be there anymore. Any additional pages they put on your server won't be overwritten. They will most likely be making an XML Sitemap for you. That is just my assumption. But if you want to be able to do this for yourself very easily, you can use Sitemap Automator. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
