Viewing Code Injection

Code Injection

User: Roddy 11 years ago
I've made some suggestions over the past couple of weeks but haven't posted them here.

Most of the instructions for website features break the code into three sections so the HTML Widget would be more like this...

There will be a field for header code/footer code applied to every page so this will take care of external stylesheets, java script and, obviously, Google Analytics which are required site wide.

If this feature was available on every page it would make life easier for those with little or no knowledge of HTML to inject code into the correct place in the HTML doc.

After thinking this over I think it is important to have a head code/footer code under the Site tab (the first tab). This makes code management much easier for the user I think. We will get that added. Hopefully for the first release.

Does this mean that all head code has to be on every page - even if some of it is required for only one page of the site?

I guess that's OK but I hope the box is big!

No, you see where it shows Description and Title. It will be there. Sorry I should have called that the Page tab, not the Site tab.

However, there will also be a section for global header/footer code on the publish page.

So a page specific code - like the styles and java script for a slider - would be entered into a box in the Page Details inspector window and global stuff, like a link to jQuery, the stylesheet for a navigation menu and Analytics, would be entered in something like a Publishing Settings page?
