Issue with Chrome on a PC

User: Jonkeba 12 years ago
Glad to get my website up at last! Delighted with how it looked on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on my iMac. (Haven't tried Explorer.) What a relief to have switched from iWeb!

For some reason on my wife's PC laptop using Chrome, the Nav Menu got messed up—last entry on the line at the top right got moved below so it's below the box on the left side. Not sure how to fix it—do I need to do a workaround, making the box's depth longer? (It was fine on Chrome on the Mac.)

Thanks...

Just guessing without seeing your website but you may have used a non-websafe font which isn't available on your PC so the substitute font that is being used is a little wider causing the navigation menu to wrap.

Thanks. Font I used was a 14pt, Arial bold. Am assuming the bold version of Arial is also web safe. (Note—we emptied the Chrome cache in case that had anything to do with it.) Maybe a smaller font size would be better since they go across the page. Don't have access to my wife's computer right now so I'm attaching a screen shot of how it looks (the good version) on my Mac to give you a sense of the Nav Bar width. On her computer the word Links appears beneath Welcome, partly on the black, partly on the green.

Follow up on problem with Chrome rendering of the Nav Bar on wife's laptop PC....

Attached is a screenshot of how the word Links in the Nav Bar dropped down, compared to the way it looked in Chrome on the iMac (See above.) Think the 14 pt. Arial Bold might be too big a font size?

Can you post the URL to the page? It's almost impossible to see why this is happening without seeing the code.

Keep in mind, this only seems to be happening only on my wife's laptop PC, not when I'm using my iMac. (Chrome is fine on my Mac)

The menu widget is only 727px wide and the shape that it is sitting on top of is 811px wide. You can afford to drag the navigation menu widget wider to prevent the return happening.
