By the time I got to 70 pages in a site I noticed that the Google Translate code had broken in the published files. On opening EW, it had gone berserk with HTML headings appearing in widgets for other items. I deleted the Google code from all 70 pages and republished. Things are returning to normal but I'm still experiencing odd things popping up in snippets where they shouldn't. Since then, I have added text to a page, jumped to another page to check something and, on my return to the original page, all the text boxes were stacked above one another and the most recently added had disappeared. That's happened twice today. When I first added the Google Translate code to the site, EW locked up and spun its wheels for a long time. It looks as though it is not a good idea to add this code. Another user has experienced similar sluggish performance after adding analytics. From my experience, and that of a couple of other users, EW doesn't seem to be able to handle larger sites. My problems started once I got to over 40 pages and it's been downhill all the way since. It looks as though I'm going to have to lose the convenience of the self generating menu and rebuild on separate project files unless these issues can be addressed. The two main causes to my problems seem to be the fact that EW needs to keep updating snippet content all the time and the fact that it can't seem to remember the original state of the site. When even one letter is changed in a text box, the application has to run through all the files in the site to publish this change. I realize that I have a large number of snippets with custom code but other users with less seem to be having the same problem and I would imagine that anyone with a site of more than about 40 pages is going to be experiencing the frustrations of publishing changes. Using EW's two level navigation, it should be possible to create a site with at least 150 pages without having to resort to sub sections in separate projects. Right now, I wouldn't advise going beyond about 50. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
