This is a summary from the person working for me building my EverWeb site www.beatstreetmedia.com . I tried all the items talked about while working with the software and experienced the same problems working in 10.9 OS. She works in an earlier system but that did not seem to matter. Are we having problems not being experienced by other users? What can we do? Because of crazy save times and save crashes it is hard to get anything published..HELP In working in Easy/EverWeb building a 300+ page website I have encountered the following issues: 1. Saving. I'm currently at a 100% crash rate when saving with about 40% of the time having changes saved however I have encountered things that were saved before but then lost later. Also the same couple pages keep disappearing completely. To save and reopen the file takes over 15 minutes. It it now not uncommon to work for 8 hours on Everweb and only retain an hour of work. 2. Selecting. Since the current update announcing groups when selecting while scrolling it automatically selects the remainder of the page in the direction being scrolled and does not deselect items when the selection box is made smaller. 3. Groups. I created several groups and copied them onto many pages, but my crash on save rate when from about 50% to 100% upon creating groups. I promptly ungrouped everything in hopes of reducing crash rate. 4. Projects Window. The file I have been working on for several months is no longer accessible in the projects window to open the project i must go through the open command or drag and drop the file onto Everweb (mac). 5. File Size. The current file size is over 540 mb and there are still many pages to be added. Working in a file this large has many disadvantages and having the ability to break it down into smaller files/pages would be extremely beneficial. any known work around? 6. Linking to one of my pages. The previous default was when creating a link to one of my pages it automatically selected the page selected for the previous link. This was extremely time saving and lost on the current version. 7. Standards. Were there a way to go into preferences to set up default text styles, colors of links, etc it would be very helpful. I made a template of the site however because of the size of the site the template was too large to open or use so changes must be done manually, specifically font and hyperlink text colors. |

Hi, Quote: 1. We'll need your project file so we can test this here. In the Projects window in EverWeb, right click on your website and select the 'Show On Disk' option. Please compress the project file before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. You can upload it at http://ge.tt or http://www.dropbox.com and send the link to me. Make sure to describe the problem you are experiencing when you send your email. Quote: 2. Selecting. Since the current update announcing groups when selecting while scrolling it automatically selects the remainder of the page in the direction being scrolled and does not deselect items when the selection box is made smaller. This has been fixed for the next release. Quote: 3. Groups. I created several groups and copied them onto many pages, but my crash on save rate when from about 50% to 100% upon creating groups. I promptly ungrouped everything in hopes of reducing crash rate. I don't think this is because of grouped items. I think this is just an coincidence. I will not more when I get your project file. Quote: 4. Projects Window. The file I have been working on for several months is no longer accessible in the projects window to open the project i must go through the open command or drag and drop the file onto Everweb (mac). This is because you moved it out of your Application Support folder. You need to put it back in there to see it listed in this window. Quote: 5. File Size. The current file size is over 540 mb and there are still many pages to be added. Working in a file this large has many disadvantages and having the ability to break it down into smaller files/pages would be extremely beneficial. any known work around? The size of the file shouldn't matter. The only thing currently is that saving saves all pages each time. We will be changing this so only modified pages are saved. You can just create separate websites and link them together, Quote: 6. Linking to one of my pages. The previous default was when creating a link to one of my pages it automatically selected the page selected for the previous link. This was extremely time saving and lost on the current version. I will look into this further. Quote: 7. Standards. Were there a way to go into preferences to set up default text styles, colors of links, etc it would be very helpful. I made a template of the site however because of the size of the site the template was too large to open or use so changes must be done manually, specifically font and hyperlink text colors. When you say it was too larger to open, what happened when you opened it? No project should be too large to open. You can edit default styles from the format menu->default styles. ok understanding that we are going to have to divide our website into smaller sites,we have an idea of how to divide our data but am wondering how to combine these separate sites for upload and viewing. would they be treated as sub domains.
