I added StatCounter code to the site wide Footer Code box. And ever since, all my pages show RED folders and are republished every time I select Publish Site Changes. After publishing, I come back to EW and all appears fine (folders not red). But as soon as I select a page to the left, they all go red. Anyone else experiencing this?

I think it's related to your post about widgets not updating. I added some site wide head code and experienced the same issue. The application locked up and spun its wheels for a long, long time. Same conclusion - it's losing its mind. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Hi, Sorry for the problems you are experiencing. I can't reproduce this error. Are you publishing to a folder or to you one-click publishing account? ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Publishing to a folder. I'll test again tomorrow and see if I run into the same thing.

Quote: I can't reproduce this error You won't be able to reproduce this error unless you have a fairly large site. Like the problem of widgets not updating, it only appears when a site gets to a certain size and gets worse as it grows. On small test sites, this doesn't occur at all and even the widget update problem is hardly noticeable. Once you get to over 30 pages the publishing issue will start to happen but the problem is that it doesn't happen every time. If you create a site with 50 plus pages and work it regularly you will see it. I have had this problem for quite some time and I think it will be reported more often as more users create larger sites. Most of the users' sites that I have looked at aren't big enough or don't have enough custom code - yet. A lot of the sites that I have looked at have really poor performance in the browser due to the huge number of over sized images and images used for backgrounds, buttons etc. These users don't appear to have any problems with EW or publishing - or, at least, I haven't seen any reports. This makes me think that these problems are caused by inserting code. I don't have stats on the site I am having problems with but I do have Google Translate on every page. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I've just experienced a good example of this problem. I added a new page to the navigation and published the site changes. It took over 3 minutes to publish these changes and all the pages were still red. I then published the site changes again. It took just as long to publish and this time the pages changed color. What was EverWeb doing the first time? Before I started this site I considered building it in sections on separate project files. I decided not to since I would lose the convenience of the self generating navigation and also I wanted to test EverWeb to see if it could handle a large site. The fact that I even thought of doing this was due the same problems occurring with a couple of test sites which were only about 40 pages or so. It would seem that once a site gets to over 30 pages, EverWeb starts to struggle and then it's downhill all the way... ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Pages that I work on that have 5 or 6 pages display similar problems with updating and "publishing changes". The first is if you just use the arrow keys to make small placement adjustments, the icon will not go red, not recognizing the adjustments. Then sometimes when publishing changes, the icon will not go red until you publish changes a second time, then it usually takes...
