Will the stand alone version be always available offline?

User: dan y 10 years ago
I guess what I'm asking is that once I purchase a 'stand alone' version can I open, close and save changes to websites on the computer with Everweb not having an internet connection (same as Web)? All I can find is that "It will always be available" and it's imperative to have total control using the app without internet.

(The beta version requires you to be connected in order to open it. I hope that's not necessary in the purchase version?)

Thanks,

You don't need any Internet connection to open, close or save changes to your website. In order to validate your license though you need an Internet connection. Currently you must be signed in in order to publish your EverWeb site (version 1.0 and 1.1).

However, we will be changing that very soon. In a very soon release the software will not have to be signed in to publish your site. The only reason this isn't a high priority right now is because obviously you need an internet connection to publish your site online so it doesn't make a big difference right now in that respect.

Well, if I were to 'get out of Dodge' and spend a few days in the desert (where's there's no internet) I couldn't work on a site unless I opened the application before I leave and hope that it doesn't get closed or the computer battery dies. I travel to 3d world areas that never have internet but like to work on the site while I'm there.

As you said, in this version it doesn't make that much difference,,,,,but, it will in the future. Working offline on a website is no different than writing a book. When insight happens you want to grab it and run with it before you forget.
