Hi There, Once again it is really a joy to work with Everweb (great name change as well). Suggestions: - How about adding a widget that helps make rolling or sliding text. - The Contact Form Widget allows us to choose if we want phone nr. to be mentioned. It would be helpful it all the boxes could be checked or unchecked like that. Then If e.g. I only wanted peoples email for a news letter list… I could choose to show only the "email:_______" box and that's it. ;-) Thanks again - can see that you have put a lot of work into the app and I hope you are successful in getting your product over the "counter". ;-) BR Lars Kruse ulstedfodboldgolf.dk made in everweb and soon clairvoyantmedie.dk (still running a messed up iWeb site… but working on the new a everweb improved |

By rolling /sliding text do you mean scrolling as in a marquee?

Hi Roddy, U know a rolling text that runs over the screen from one side to the other… like the giant billboard on broadway in New York ;-) or a rolling text that roles from the top to the bottom in a box like the rolling text after a movie. They are great eye catchers and a good place to put news and stuff. |

The stock answer to horizontal scrolling text is the marquee tag which is very simple to implement. The problem is that it doesn't work in all browsers and the W3C advises against its use - period. Most of the online examples don't even mention the use of CSS3 with vendor prefixes either. Scrolling text is hated by many since it's even more of a distraction than animated GIFs or flash. Any time I've had to use it I use a standalone javascript so that it works in all browsers. There are a number of jQuery plugins. Here's an example… http://www.givainc.com/labs/marquee_example.htm ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
