| I had a 1 minute video (no audio) that looped on my splash page when I build my site with iWeb. I have changed the QT file to an MP4 and tried everything to get it to auto play and loop. I even changed it to a Flash file. I'm admittedly not facile with HTML code, but does anyone have a work around? Thanks. | |

How are you inserting the video into EverWeb. What code are you using?

| Thanks for the reply, Roddy. I'm not using any code. I use the "video" widget, then drop the MP4 file under "Assets" >"External" file and then choose it. I've tried dropping the MP4 directly onto the video template on the page and that didn't work. I'm not very facile with code unless the instructions are self-explanatory. iWeb was very easy for me and I want to make EW work for me. Appreciate any advice. | |

The mediaelement player used by the EverWeb default Video widget, like most website video players, doesn't have an autoplay function simply because it is a really bad idea to set an audio or video file to do this. You can actually set the HTML5 part of the player to autoplay but mobile devices will ignore this anyway. Both of the EverWeb widgets that I have developed also do not have the autoplay function but you can use a pure HTML5 player to achieve this. It does mean the you have to upload three versions of the video file.
