Viewing Navigation HTML

Navigation HTML

Is there any way of implementing a feature that would allow users to access the navigation menu HTML by, say, double clicking it and the code would appear in the Widgets inspector - just like an HTML Snippet?

Why would we want this?

Recently, a user asked if there was any way to have an active link in the menu. I see that there is actually an active class in the menu styles but it would require access to the menu HTML to insert this to make the appropriate list item active on each page.

I was trying to fix a header - along with the navigation - and thought at first I could simply overwrite the navigation styles with a position fixed. However, I could see that this wouldn't work because the menu is given positioning info in an inline style which can't be overwritten without accessing the HTML.

There doesn't appear to be a way to prevent the text in the menu from being capitalized.

Users could add text spacer bars to save them having to grapple with CSS.

And so on...

Will somebody carry it unanimously?

And then somebody else implement it?
