Hex Color Numbers

I am trying to create a design with the header and footer - styled using CSS - with the same color as the browser background. On publishing it was noticeable that the color of the header & footer didn't match that of the browser background even although I had used the same hex color number for each one. On further investigation it appears that EasyWeb is changing my selected color numbers. Examples... #222222 is changed to #2D2D2D Even more strange is the fact that when I select white - either from a palette or by hex number - EW changes it... #FFFFFF is changed to #FEFFFF ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Here's another discrepancy which is obviously noticeable... Trying to find a workaround for the problem of EWs method of setting a menu directory as a page, I decided to make the ul li a:hover background the same as the ul ul li a:hover background. This is the method used by sites that do have the directory/page deal to stop visitors getting confused. The problem here is that EW sets the ul li a:hover as an image and the ul ul li a:hover as a hex color number. Both turn out different and are also different from the hex color number I selected. Here are the results... Selected color - #FF0000 ul li a:hover image color - #EF0016 ul ul li a:hover - #FF2600 ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Colors are converted to sRGB color profiles from your monitors color profile. Colors on the web (or on any device) can get very complicated. We're trying to remove these issue from the end user but there may be places where we can't. That is why your hex colors are being changed right now. Color profiles are a VERY complex topic. Something we have had to learn very well while creating EverWeb. Basically you can never assume that a hex color code will match the color of an image you have on your website across different devices (devices referring to monitors, printers etc...). The latest release uses colors for the navigation menu and not images. |
