Google Map image appearing with HTML code visible?

User: naomiazriel 12 years ago
Hi there,

When using the Google Map widget, my map shows with the HTML code visible; why is that and how do I fix it?

Thanks!

Naomi

That looks like a Google Analytics code that is in there. It should be pasted into the site wide Footer Code box on the Site Publishing Settings page.

Thanks Roddy!

How do I extricate this snippet of code out of my Google Map widget? BTW, the same is true for my HTML snippet widget; this snippet of code just comes with the widget, i don't know how to pull it out, nor how it got there.

Thanks for your help, Naomi

Can you post the full code from the snippet?

Weird... I just reopened the same widgets (HTML snippet ... google maps), only now instead of showing the HTML snippet in my footer code, it shows the HTML snippet for my header code... It's as if the widget duplicates whatever HTML code is already on the page? How do I "restart" it, so to speak, so I can input new data in there?

Thanks! Naomi

So... here is the answer to that one: delete the HTML code from footer and header, use the widget (in this case positioning a google map on the page), then paste the code to the footer again. Obviously, a bug in the system but this fix works for now.

No that's not the issue.

The issue was that you forgot to paste the opening < for the Google Analytics code.

When you deleted it and pasted it again, you must have pasted it correctly.

This is not an EasyWeb bug.
