Viewing Built in Slide Show
Built in Slide Show

| I think that if you want to get attention in the web design world / former iweb users, placing a "Slide Show" maker in easyweb would launch this software to the top if not over the top. Also having pages be able to slide side to side (left to right or up and down) like Tumult Hype has would be great as well. | |

The image gallery widget offers a slide show.

Thank you Christopher, Although technically you are right, but this is really not going to cut it as a slide show. I was suggesting a real slideshow not an image viewer. Personally I think EW could be a great hit but not having a built in slider inline and similar to "Wow" will eventually be a critical mistake for EW and a hit for companies like Wow. |

I'm not going to argue with you there. I chose to use Shadowbox over EW's Image Gallery Widget. While I'd prefer it's ease of use (the luxury of dragging in photos and rearranging them at will), there is no way to customize its appearance, add titles or captions, or prevent photos from being resized to 600 px wide (and recompressed in the process).

I thought I had shown how the gallery could be customized in this topic... http://ragesw.net/easyweb-beta/viewtopic.php?f=6...t=1334 PrettyPhoto actually has a setting to allow the expanded images to go out of the viewport if you want giant images. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Please keep in my that I am not trying to be critical here, I am just making a suggestion that EW would definitely benefit from having a slide show built in in such a way that it does not go to another page (showing a single image) when the image is clicked. that style is "old school". Adobe Muse has an html 5 slideshow that is build in and the slider is right there on the page...... Simply put, I think the viewers would rather see the slides right in the page with everything else. Like this: http://eugenelambweb.com/easyweb/ I hope this is what I am allowed to say on this forum........ |

Quote: Please keep in my that I am not trying to be critical here Don't worry, we know. We welcome your feedback. Quote: EW would definitely benefit from having a slide show built in in such a way that it does not go to another page (showing a single image) when the image is clicked. It shouldn't go to another page when you click an image in an image gallery. It should open up in an overlay window. Can you show me an example of it opening in a new window for you> Quote: Adobe Muse has an html 5 slideshow that is build in and the slider is right there on the page The image slider you have on your website is based on Flash which won't work on any mobile device. It also won't work if flash is not installed, which it isn't by default with Safari on OS X. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| I know that Paul, I am just giving an example what the slider should look like in EW, not that terrible pretty thing that you are using now. It really is bad for the program. | |

Big thank you for adding the new slideshow widget! This really has sped up my creation of these things ten-fold. I notice there is an image counter, this is fine so long as there is no white in the images being used, as the counter can not be seen. Is it possible to add a colour for the counter? A really popular alternative to slide numbers are little dots, it would be really, really cool if these could be added.. I have never see numbers used, but see dots all over the place! There seems to be a large white border around my slideshows. When I try to make one that covers the whole width of the page, it is in a white frame. I've noticed that you can change the background colour (which changes the white border colour) but I want to remove it or make it translucent so the slideshow is the exact width of my page. Any ideas? |

Thanks pumpkin. Your link didn't work, so I ended up doing a search for 1416. Got there in the end. Rage - The option to remove the border gets my vote. It seems possible to draw a shape behind the slideshow, so this would presenter a border if needed... |

@ Darren Change the counter text color by pasting this into the page Head Code box... <style type="text/css"> .galleria-counter{color: #FF0000} </style> You can also change the font and size too in the same line. The EasyWeb slider uses the default theme. There are a number of custom themes. This one has pagination dots. When you see the price of these you will begin to realise what good value EasyWeb is! It should be possible to change the thumbnail carousel to pagination dots in the styles since Galleria makes it easy to create custom themes. Here's an example one where I have relocated and customized the carrousel and also arranged for it to disappear on mobile devices. From your experience with Cycle Slider you do know how to customize the dots! ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | Thanks Roddy, Anytime I need the dots, I'll use the cycle slider code as I can quickly implement this now. It would be quicker and more accessible if it was an option for the new slideshow widget... Something for Rage to keep on their list as I am sure others would appreciate instant dots when the timing is right. | |
