Really be great if you could see, manage, duplicate, and copy from one site to another all in the side bar. Let's say I'm managing 50 sites, much nicer seeing them in the side bar than having 50 windows open. For example maybe I have to apply an update to all my sites, it'd be much easier and quicker to apply if EasyWeb worked in this way... like iWeb. This was a great feature of iWeb that's still relevant today for anyone managing multiple sites. I really find the way EasyWeb manages sites very cumbersome compared to iWeb's way. Was going to upload an attachment of how iWeb handles sites for everyone's viewing pleasure but saw this message. "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." |

The iWeb method of being able to have two or more sites on one domain.sites2 file was never a brilliant idea and most of us used the workaround to create separate sites. This lessens the loss if you experience a corrupt domain file and makes working on any one site a lot faster and more efficient. With iWeb, I occasionally used the rather risky operation of having two sites open at once to copy stuff from one to the other but not very often. Do you really update 50 sites all at once - or even 5? ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Yes, I update a lot of sites. I actually lowered the number of sites I'm managing in using 50 as my example. The real numbers are much much higher. Anyway, I know I'm probably not the typical user, but... I love being able to see all my sites listed on the left and having the ability to jump between them effortlessly... maybe copy and paste some relevant related content or update all of them very quickly... maybe add a new feature to all of them, or even a new page or article to several sites that are of a similar topic, etc. Yes having them all contained in one file can be risky IF you don't back up regularly. I personally don't care how they structure the files... each site in a folder... all together in one folder or file, etc. (as long as I can copy, backup, and move the files). I just want to be able to work as fast and efficiently as I could in iWeb and for me the way EasyWeb handles each site individually slows my workflow down to unusable levels. It's very clunky, cluttered, and way too many steps imo. Especially when in iWeb you could open one file and see all your sites and you could simply click once and be on a different site. Super simple, super fast and efficient. So far I haven't been able to use EW for real live projects. This is one of those reasons. I need a much faster workflow for building and managing a lot of sites. Like with iWeb you could duplicate pages and move them between sites so fast. EW may not end up being a product for me, but I am hoping. I'm watching it closely and each update it's getting better and better. This is just my feature request. That is what this forum category is called right? "Feature Request." |

Thanks for the feature request. To be honest this isn't very high on our priority list but if many people will request it, it will move up. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

I do agree it would be convenient. As an option though....

To do this would require all the separate sites to be merged into one file. I don't understand why anybody would want this feature, It will make the app slow and a lot less responsive. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I do not want to merge all my sites but I would like the option of having a couple of them side by side if I need to.

| That feature is absolutely necessary for me to move to EasyWeb from iWeb. I have two sites, one in English and the other in French. The first page of the first one can link you to the second (hyperlink) and while viewing the second you only see the navigation items of the second one. This is not something possible with EasyWeb at present, I think. | |

Depending on the size of these sites you can either create them, each in their own directory in the same project or have two separate sites and open them both at the same time.

| I know, Roddy, but what I want to be able to do is have a hyperlink from one site to the other, which is not possible at present, and directories do not help in my case because I want each of my sites to have its own navigation menu. | |

You can have hyperlinks between two websites. Select External Page from the hyperlink menu and enter the URL of any page you want to link too.

If both sites are published to the same server you can use relative paths to interlink them.
