How to upload sitemap automator to rage hosting

User: Julian Bromley 12 years ago
I have RAGE 'Sitemap Automator" software from when I used my iWeb software.

I now use EasyWeb software and have a RAGE Hosting account.

How do I upload a sitemap to inform search engines to crawl my new EasyWeb site

Can I still use RAGE Site Map Automator ?

After you have generated the sitemap, click the "Show On Disk" button and drag the sitemap.xml into the assets window in EasyWeb.

Insert a text box into a page of your site in EasyWeb and type in "sitemap", highlight it and create it as a "Link to: A File". Browse to and select the sitemap.xml.

This forces EasyWeb to add the sitemap.xml to the ewExternalFiles folder.

Now publish your site to the server and the path to the sitemap.xml will be...

http://www.your-domain-name.com/ewExter ... itemap.xml

You can now delete the text box with the "sitemap" link.

Thanks Roddy

I have completed this sequence, but when I ask RAGE site map automator to 'Test Sitemap' its says 'Not properly Installed on your Server' (which is also a RAGE hosted site)

Does this matter ?

Thanks again Julian

You would need to ask RageSW about that!

The sitemap would normally be uploaded to the root folder. As long as you give Google the correct path it should be all right.

Add it to your Google account and they will soon tell you if it is OK.

With the current version it isn't possible. We're working on this though. Submit a ticket through support and attach your sitemap file. We'll upload it for you.
