Can somebody please explain me the allow free drag feature? I just cant properly allign text boxes and pictures. Sometimes I cant move them further down or up. There is a boarder that prevents it. Playing with "allow free dragging" sometimes help but I dont understand the logic behind this. I also have one text box that extends beyond the bottom of the page but I cant scroll down there. This software could really be a bit more intuitive. |

Hey Philip. Eventually I think there will be a manual. Your page is made up of header, body (content), and footer. Images, shapes and text boxes stay in their confines (which you set in the parameters - content, header, footer height etc.) even when you try to drag them out. If you select Allow Free Dragging, then you can drag these objects wherever you want, crossing the lines. If, say, you drag a text box into your footer, then deselect Allow Free Dragging, it will stay there. This is useful if your content (body) grows, because your footer contents will always stay in the footer. Does that makes sense? The other way to drag objects into the header/footer is by holding down the Command (Apple) key while dragging. To align virtually anything - text boxes, shapes, images - easiest way is to click on the object, then go to Arrange/Align Objects/'Center' (or whatever choice you prefer). It'll pop into position. As such: I hope this is what you meant! Additionally, you can use the Metrics panel - the X/Y coordinates for precision accuracy! And you can align objects and texts by dragging and making use of the blue alignment lines. ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |

Under Window at the top, select Show Layout. The shortcut is Shift-Command-L, for both showing and hiding. The blue lines will be drawn to represent your header, body and footer. That's how you'll know where everything is. You'll also see the borders of your text boxes, shapes and images.
