There is something very strange happening when I try to insert a text box ( or a shape) on the page. I was creating a new site and tried to paste a text from IWeb. After doing that the EW started to freeze and even other programs became unresponsive. I had to force quit the EW. It continued to happen again and again. I deleted the latest version of EW and reinstalled it. The same thing was happening. Then I created a new site thinking maybe IWeb somehow put a bug into the page. The second site ( I was basically duplicating the pages I already created) was fine until I tried to insert a text box. It becomes very, very slow and unresponsive. I can't move things on the page, delete them,etc...I leave it for a while and finally it does what I needed it to do but after a while. It seems to be happening to anything done with "insert" command... After deleting the inserted object EW continues to behave very strangely.... After finally inserting an image I published to a folder but the image wasn't there.... Tried to paste a text and here is what I got... ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |

It seems the problem with inserting things solved itself after restarting computer... But Paste text is still a mess.....( I am copying from Pages) After a while though it starts to stall again and becomes unresponsive.... ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |

I just sent the file via gmail. The project is still bugged somehow. Now I don't know what is causing it. Other websites seem to be functioning fine but this particular one (two copies of it) make EW slow and unresponsive. Any thoughts? ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |

Did any flies come out of your screen? Sorry, but that picture reminds me of that scary horror movie! While you're waiting for a response from admin, how's the health of your computer? It may not be related but since you mentioned things slowed down... Have you repaired permissions lately? Is your harddrive full? (You need at least 5-10% free space, otherwise things start slowing down. A lot of people forget to empty their trash over time.) Are you having problems with any other apps? ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |

Christopher, thank you for your reply...I am not sure what you mean by Quote: Did any flies come out of your screen? When it first happened (getting stuck) it was a copy/paste text from IWeb. After that it was text copied from Pages document. (The scrambled text) Now it seems to be happening just with that document. As far as the rest - my computer is working fine, there is quite a bit of space and it only happens when I work with a particular project in EW. It doesn't happen with other projects (not yet...:) and all other programs are fine. So it looks like there is some bug that got into some document and just decided to stay...:) ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |

My fly comment was just a joke referencing the movie "The Ring". Hopefully you can at least keep working while the EW crew squash that bug! By the way, the text copied was using Google or web safe fonts right? Any strange characters in there? (Not that I know if it would make a difference. Just taking guesses now...) ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |

Ah! I didn't see "flies", I read it as "files"....Logical...:) The font was Georgia and had a few French accents. Can't think of anything else.... ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |

So I pasted your text into EasyWeb and I got the same result. I then went to text options in the inspector and adjusted the Line Height (even though it says 1.0) I think the line height is being set to 0. Will look into it more. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Ok, I just opened the text in Page, reset it to another line height and then back to 1. It did paste perfectly (although the French accents and apostrophes DO NOT appear). But then I went to another page and EW got stuck again... Very strange. Should I send you my project?

If you read my first post in this topic I said that EW becomes slow and unresponsive - this is what happens on a particular page ( the one where the problems started)

When this happens it is useful to open Activity Monitor which is in your Utilities folder and you can see what is causing the slowness.

Going a little crazy here.... I deleted the page that was giving me problems and created a new one. Was able to paste text, etc. Everything was going really well. Then I wanted to insert a shape and the problem started again. EW does not respond to commands right away. I can not highlight text ( a hand appears but does not do anything). Also the scroll bar on the right side is flashing: shows up and disappears every few seconds. What is going on? P.S. I also can't move to another page....The only thing that is left to do is to Force Quit.... ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |
