GIF file doesn't appear in published page

User: Guest 12 years ago
I have a gif file that doesn't appear in the published page. It shows up in the assets list and in the web pages in EasyWeb, but not on the published page in any browser on any device I've used. I'm attaching the image.

It's not an animated gif, but I'm assuming some kind of imcompatibility with EasyWeb and gifs, so I converted it to a jpg.

I think for ease of use for the average user who will be using EasyWeb as a replacement for iWeb, that some kind of built-in conversion for gifs would be a good thing to implement. A lot of iWeb users may not know how to do that or know that it needs to be done.

If this is going to be advertised as an iWeb replacement or alternative, it needs to be easy for people who were using iWeb to use it. It great that we can some really advanced things with it. I think it's already better than iWeb in many ways.

Hi

This is still not working?! Is it that complicated transferring a GIF-file from HD to webserver without crashing the animation?
I hardly dared to look up this problem for I thought it was up to my end! Sad to see, this is EW-caused.

Maybe there is a connection with the quality problems when using pictures in other sizes than in original size (see my post here). A "do not reprocess image"-function would bypass this/these problem(s)?

kind regards

You can insert an animated GIF quite easily using code in an HTML snippet or use an image widget. See THIS page for more info.
