I inserted Google Analytics code into the page (into every pages) and nothing appeared into the HTML files. I then inserted the same code under the Site Settings Header and as soon as I quit Easyweb, the code does not appear anymore into the Site Setting Header field. I generated the site again into a folder and I have the Google code twice into the HTML pages. I then deleted the code into each pages (and even put a space character of a TEST word to override the code but the code still appear twice into the HTML files. I need to adjust manually every HTML files to remove the duplicated code. |

Google analytics code should be pasted into the Footer Code box in the Site Publishing Settings page. Once you have pasted the code, select a page of your site in the left column before publishing to make sure the code is applied. If you put the code into both the site wide code box and the individual page code boxes, why are you surprised that it appears twice in the published files? You entered it twice so it will appear twice. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Just did a small test. Created a new site, 1 page, copied the Analytics code into the Header field of the Settings page, Published the site to a folder. The code is into the HTML file twice. </style> <script type="text/javascript"> var _gaq = _gaq || []; var pluginUrl = '//www.google-analytics.com/plugins/ga/inpage_linkid.js'; _gaq.push(['_require', 'inpage_linkid', pluginUrl]); _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXXX-Y']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> var _gaq = _gaq || []; var pluginUrl = '//www.google-analytics.com/plugins/ga/inpage_linkid.js'; _gaq.push(['_require', 'inpage_linkid', pluginUrl]); _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXXX-Y']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); </script> Quit Easyweb, reopened it and the code does no longer appear into the Header field. But it's still there somewhere because when Publishing the site again, the code is there twice again. |

You should try doing a screen record and send it in to Rage to see if they can spot what is going on. The tests I did placed the codes in the correct place in the published files and the code was still present in EW after publishing. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | If I copy the exact same code into the Footer field under the Site Settings, nothing appear when generating the site. Also, same behaviour, when quitting and opening again Easyweb, the content of the Footer field is empty under stye Settings page. | |

It seems to be just happening to you. That's why I would suggest you get Admin to have a look at what you are doing or to look at your project file.

OK, forget the duplication. My fault, the code was duplicated when I was coping it from iWeb. Regarding the code that disappear when I quit Easyweb and re-open it, it's still an issue. I can't see the code that I saved in the header field (Settings page of the site) when I quit and relaunch. However, the code is there in the file because every time I Publish my site, the code is included in the HTML files. |

You should show a screen recording of the issue. You can record your screen using Quicktime which is in your Applications folder. Open Quicktime and select 'New Screen Recording' from the File menu. Once you are done, your recording will be on your desktop. You can upload that .mov file to youtube.com or www.ge.tt and post it here. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
