| okay...I thought I erased it ..but it works now....I am going to use this page as a base for all my new pages...Can I just duplicate the page...add text and images... and will all the header links and snippets work? | |

Keep the page as a "Template" and exclude it from the navigation menu. Then do a Command D on it any time you need a new page.

where do I find the choice to keep it as a template? When I used i web seo tool..I was told not to use navigation....so I've never used navigation... I always did a new page in the side bar and the links used on the home page opened everything up...Ultimately I could have more than 50 pages so is there an advantage to navigation? if so can you explain it to me.. |

You don't have a choice to keep it as a template. Just name it "template" in the left column and uncheck the box next to "Include page in navigation menu". The iWeb self generating navigation had several problems. It used javascript to create it and you couldn't have the page name in the menu different from the page file name. EasyWeb overcomes these problems as you can see in the Page inspector. iWeb is not capable of creating a drop down menu whereas EasyWeb can. This means that you can divide your site into directories and these will have a drop down section in the menu. okay ..I changed Blank to Template and removed it from navigation...but I do not understand what you've written about navigation and the drop down menu..do you mean I can put a category in the header like ..apparel..and then make it clickable to show hats, t-shirts, jackets etc.? Also when I start a new page I just duplicate template..and when do I do command D? |

Drag the navigation widget onto the template page. Create a new directory named "apparel". Duplicate the template page and named it "hats". Drag this into the "apparel" folder. Duplicate the template page and named it "t-shirts" Drag this into the "apparel" folder and so on... It is the keyboard command for duplicating a page.
