The number after the navigation menu is based on the z-index of the shape (which would have to be adjusted from the Arrange menu). It would get too complicated. Beta 23 will provide a class called ewnavmenu applied to all navigation menus so this will be easier. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Is there a way to add apostrophes to the drop down menu? Our brand "i'coo" has an apostrophe and I'd like to see that incorporated in the drop down menu. http://www.gtbaby.com/hauckeasyweb/home/index.html Thank you. |

You can use it for the page name in the menu but not for the page file name.

Hi Roddy, I was under the impression that the new beta was going to solve the navigation issue. It hasn't done that for me. Do I have to completely redo my pages to get the navigation to adhere to the correct menu numbers? |

Quote: I was under the impression that the new beta was going to solve the navigation issue. It hasn't done that for me You just need to specify the text you want for the navigation menu in the Navigation Menu Display name field under Inspector->Page Options. There isn't bug in EasyWeb with this issue. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

It doesn't appear to have been implemented. I tried adding a new menu to an existing site and starting a new site and it's just the same as before - assigning numbers like #navmenu_menu1 ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! See me other reply, there is now a class ewnavmenu but the id stays the same as it was before. So you can style the navbar by using the class ewnavmenu

It seems a kind of half-assed way of doing it. Why not change the menu styles to the class name?

Because one of the differences between EasyWeb and iWeb is that you can have multiple navbars on one pages. For example a navbar in the footer. Changing it to the class name would mean the classname would need to be unique, defeating the purpose of having it there. Anyways, in the next beta (24) the ID is now based on the number of navbars instead of the number of shapes. So the first navbar you add will have the ID navmenu_menu0, the second navmenu_menu1 etc... This is based on how you arrange your navigation menus (from under the Arrange menu) so you could technically change this if you sent a navbar to the back or brought one to the front. If you don't modify that, they will be numbered based on when they have been added to your website. Last edit 12 years ago ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Quote: So the first navbar you add will have the ID navmenu_menu0, the second navmenu_menu1 etc... That's how I thought it worked in the first place! Quote: you can have multiple navbars on one pages I would have thought it was more likely that most users would want to be able to customize the navigation rather than than have multiple navbars. I doubt if anybody would want to cover up the navigation or having anything in front of it so why not just assign it a high z-index in the first place? If a user can change the ID with the arrange menu then we are back to square one. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! [quote="Paul-RAGESW":ze9d6it9]See me other reply, there is now a class ewnavmenu but the id stays the same as it was before. So you can style the navbar by using the class ewnavmenu[/quote:ze9d6it9] I'm a little confused. I'm not a programmer by any means. I sell strollers (insert laugh here). But I've always designed my own websites because I like to do that. It gives me control over my products and the ability to change information on the fly. In my opinion I'm exactly the type of customer that EasyWeb is trying to win over. Someone who is looking to build/design a website and come across as being somewhat professional. I'm not comfortable adding scripts to "head code". What I'm trying to say is that I really like the overall drag and drop features in EasyWeb and I was so hoping for a drop down nav menu that would be consistent on all of the pages. One nav menu with a set of design features that i can customize to some extent and have that customization reveal itself consistently throughout the site. Is this something that can be done? Issues that I'm having 1. When I copy and paste the navigation from page to page it changes the "dotted line" to a "solid line". I like the dotted line. 2. I've changed the name on the "Navigation Display Name" and it has added strange text to the menu now. Take a look: http://www.gtbaby.com/hauckeasyweb/home/index.html |
