Shadowbox, oh shadowbox. Where have you been all my life? I got the code up above to work, mostly, but don't know how to style it. Roddy, oh Roddy... how do I add CSS style to my thumbs? Margin in particular to space them out (0px 10px 10px 0px) and maybe border or shadow? This is what I've used for the html (copied over and over): <a href="http://cleetche.com...(it's secret!).jpg" rel="shadowbox[gallery-toj]" title="Tribe Of Joseph"><img class="thumb" src="http://cleetche.com...(it's secret!).jpg" width=150 height=auto alt="written and directed by Cleetche, starring Shaun Johnston and Steven Grayhm></a> Here's my link. For some reason, my footer's screwed up too. http://cleetche.com/feature-film/tribe- ... llery.html ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |

The thumbs - funnily enough - have the class="thumb" <style type="text/css">Quote: my footer's screwed up too This is usually the result of screwed up brain cells or warped thinking. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! First of all, anyone attempting to copy in the code below will need to remove the spaces before border, margin, padding ... box-shadow for it to work. Roddy, what's the rule of thumb with spaces in html anyway? Are you allowed 2? There were three here. Secondly, my attempts with Shadowbox are still not totally working. Some of my pictures don't appear in the slideshow. Some of the thumbs redirect to other photos. My thumb gallery layout is messed up and I don't know why. I've checked every single thumb and their dimensions are all exactly the same. The html code looks good too, since I basically just copy and pasted then changed the photo number for each. I have blue artifacts surrounding some of my thumbs. And my footer is being pushed off the page, at least part of it, and I don't know why. The html snippet is sized accordingly in EW. All the elements in the footer are 'locked' into place. So pretty much a mess. Same thing in Safari, Chrome ... FF. Here's my link: http://cleetche.com/feature-film/tribe- ... llery.html Has anyone been successful with this, using 48 photos or more? That's CSS I gave you - not HTML. I can have as many spaces as I want. CSS is laid out like that to make it easy to read. Are you sure that all your thumbs are the same size? ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Some of them were different heights but they all shared the same width. Then I redid those so that everything would be uniform. I've scrolled through each thumb in preview, looking at the dimensions - and they are all the same. Plus, I uploaded the whole batch to my ftp, overwriting the old files. Maybe I'll do that again, just for fun.

Would you recommend any other third parties, besides Shadowbox? Preferably someone who supports retina @2x photos.

Roddy, I deleted my photo gallery from the server and re-opened the page in Safari. This is what it looks like. Notice the photos start shifting over on the fourth row. Does that provide any clues? Maybe I'll redo the html from scratch.

It's the spaces between the images that are changing. I use percentages for grids even if it is not a responsive design. Example... <style type="text/cssThe problem is that you need to be able to do simple math to figure out the width and margin values! ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! One major problem I am seeing over and over is the implementation of code in the "Header and Footer" regular people who do not understand code at all are looking to EW for a solution. This is not easy at all! Too much code writing here to call this a replacement for iweb. Something has to change because so many seem to be confused about how to get a site up and running as it was in iWeb. We should be able to just drag and drop images / video and have EW do the rest. Isn't this what the "Rage is all about?" |
