Massively disappointing !

I agree that the Web has changed completely in the last 3-5years and people want more to design ... view as they begin to build a relationship with the customer. What i dont understand is why Website developers would choose iWeb or EasyWeb as they are surely created for the uneducated and simple people like myself. Surely if too much is added too quickly, people will be put off EasyWeb. There (in my view) can never be one glove fits all. Maybe in another 3-5 years there can be add ons for people that want 'more'. In the mean time, if its not 'easy' to start with, who exactly would the average customer be?

While I agree that EasyWeb (as the name says) should be for people that want an easy way to create stunning websites, I'm sure there will be more widgets (maybe 3rd party widgets for free or to buy) that will take EasyWeb to whole new level that will also suit more advanced users. I'd welcome that.

Sometimes a responsive website is not the right way to go and a separate mobile version is necessary.

I've only had the dubious pleasure of creating the code for websites that were required to work in all (ancient) browsers and devices a couple of times and I would say that this method is way beyond the skill level of the average EasyWeb user. Even although I used the "mobile first" approach, the task was fairly complex.

I would agree that the beginner should create a traditional version and a mobile version of their site. However, the mobile version has to be responsive because you can't build a fixed width version to suit every device on the market.

Mobile websites require a very different approach to traditional ones.

The content has to be cut to the minimum and forget all those artistic touches that you used to use to embellish your designs.

Banners are a bad idea and slideshows need to lose the thumbnails and arrows and use finger swiping.

User inputs need to be finger tip sized.

Remember that drop down menus don't work as planned on mobile devices so you shouldn't use the EW default menu. See this demo for examples of two level navigation for both traditional and mobile sites...
