Viewing Image Masking and Alpha

Image Masking and Alpha

User: Yelena 13 years ago
I would like to understand what is the point of setting the image to "stretch" when masking it? It distorts the image and if I try to Fill Offsets it only moves it in one direction therefore cutting part of the image rather than moving it within the shape...I am assuming this feature is not finished yet?

A big +1 for instant alpha and masking features. A big part of what made iWeb great to me was that you didn't need to prepare pictures etc in another application before bringing them in.

So also things like adding sharpness and changing colour balance would be on top of my wishes...

The Instant Alpha and Masking features are two giant features in my book. I use them extensively.

Masking has already been implemented.

[quote="Yelena":lwypyhhy]I am still hoping for a better Image masking and REALLY, REALLY need the Alpha feature.... <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->[/quote:lwypyhhy]
Not particularly fussed about the 'Instant Alpha' feature but the Masking feature for images is sorely missed!!

The masking features can be access from Format->Mask.

YES, Instant Alpha. I could still use the version from iWeb and copy and paste it, I believe. But duplicating what iWeb had and putting your own good work on it is paramount.

Image manipulation is better done before inserting in a web page.

Use Preview.app for instant alpha. It has better tools than iWeb does.

Why can't EW have this function?

Most of the people using EasyWeb don't even know what an Alpha channel is let alone how to make one in Photoshop and save it as the proper file type to keep it active....

Adding this feature is VERY time consuming and expensive to implement.

We can eventually add it, but we have to get something released to the public. Features will continually be added of course once EasyWeb is released. If lots of people request it it will move higher on our priority list. But we still have a ton of features we want to implement as well.
