awww you are amazing, thank you! I know I have reached out in frustration, and yet you (and all the EW team) calm me down and I do listen. One of my deleted posts before was to say ty for that. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I do not wish to go back, I am really happy with the new things I could do with EW! thant I could not do w iWeb before. But there were a lot of learning curves.... and yet ... that is awesome in its own right :) and again, thank you.

ps. some text in the galleries are still aligning left, when they should all be center ... any thoughts? (see http://www.sharlenawood.com/sharlena-wood-fine-art-gallery/body-art-.html)

If you publish through EW, what I would do is open that widget and set them to right and save and publish and see if they are on right. If they are, I would go back and set them to center and save and publish again.

ok (yes I publish via EW) - I'll try that and follow up, thanks!

I just published www.sharlenawood.com and www.cjmccabe.com ... I know I have to reduce file sizes now. thanks for all your suggestions re that.... its going to be a beast! :P

Sharlena -

Your art is exceptional. I admire people with a talent, whether it be singing or painting.
Here's a suggestion altho it may not be popular with some of the folks here:
Break each section down to maybe 18-20 pictures, add a page and do 18-20 more.

I have a photo intensive website. The pictures are smaller (500x500) but still it's fast by keeping each page manageable.

Thank you dearly, MrCourtney. Art and music is where our spirits SHINE! I will do the deeds, take all the suggestions ... but want to note @Jim.G comment - thanks but sorry that did not work! titles are randomly aligned left, when they should be center - still!

What version of EW are you using? Are you using the Default Image Gallery? Is it the one with the squares of color on widget?
I ask because I just messed with it again and I have no way to set where the caption goes. I see where it is in the Image Slider, which is white with a blue rectangle in middle of it.
If it is the Image Slider, I believe some others are having trouble with caption position as well

"EverWeb 1.8.1 is currently the newest version available." <--- this is what I'm using (I was told to check for updates more often lately!

It is the image gallery (widget with coloured squares), not the slideshow. when there are images in the gallery, and I select the 'frame' of the whole widget, I can change the text with the font tool or the text window and center them - it works and looks good when I'm in EW, then goes wonky when in preview or publishing.

I was just able to recreate this issue. I found at 12 images it worked fine, at 30 (like you) it does not. I will look into this later when I get back home.
This is what I did and it fixed it, although it is extremely IFFY whether you want to try.
1. I would duplicate the page in case something goes wrong.
2. Select the widget on the page.
3. Delete the widget.
4. Go to Edit- Undo Remove.
When it came back all the captions were where they were supposed to be.

The issues with captions not being aligned when publishing in the Imager Gallery in version 1.8.1 will be fixed in version 1.9. Sorry about issue. It happens if you use images with different aspect ratios.

Please do not take this as a promise but we hope to have a 1.9 beta up within 2 weeks.

I still have some really basic questions. I've been through all the forums and tutorials and still seem to need help. Sharlena, your website is amazing! I'm so impressed you created it through Everweb. I'm also an artist recreating an iWeb site... looking to do a slideshow or carousel on the home page with only one image showing at a time, hopefully different aspect images, but I could just do one orientation if I had to. Did you do yours using image slider? I also like the way you used the grid which then goes to enlarged images. I am trying to do the same thing (hopefully learning from your questions about image size), but I'd like it to allow for alt-text for each image. I can't seem to find a way to do this in Image Gallery--wondering if you used Lightbox Gallery which I've tried, but also having some issues with.

I realize you just got your site published and being back on these forums is probably the last thing you want to do! Jim or Paul, could you possibly answer these questions?

Thank you so much!

You don't need to make your images 150kb. That is not a requirement. Everweb will optimize Jpegs and pngs with the settings in the preferences.

Alt tags for images in the image gallery come from the caption you specify.

Sorry for the last two posts-

Paul,

I'm having the same issues with captions shifting. Has this been addressed? When will the new update come out?

-Thanks
