Quote: Paul-RAGESW - 04/04/2015 11:46:53 Quote: Can't you just use a global variable like '%WebUrl%, fill that from the Website URL field and just refer to "http://"%WebURL%/%PagePath%/%PageName% ?? We do this, I just don't know why it's not working for your project. I'll need you to send me your website project file then so I can take a look. In the Projects window in EverWeb, click the arrow on the right next to your website and select the 'Show On Disk' option. **DO NOT move this file from this location on your computer** Please compress the project file before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. You can upload it at http://ge.tt or http://www.dropbox.com and send the link to me. Make sure to reference this thread the problem you are experiencing when you send your email. What's the email address you want me to use when sending in the project ? By the way, the issue with the incorrect OG: components is seen in various projects, so it's not related to one project. |

When publishing to a local folder, the URL is correct in that it use http:// but it points to the file in the local folder... <meta property="og:url" content="http://Macintosh HD:Users:Steve-Jobs:EverWeb Files:Sites:widget-test:/index.html" /> This is bad news for those who publish to a local folder and there really needs to be a checkbox in the Page inspector to remove it. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Hmm, when publishing to local folder or test-driving the page in Safari I do not get any of the OG links at all. I see a whole lot of no-cache statements appear but nothing from the OG: settings. Not even with a brand new design website project. Peter |

Hi Paul, I just checked it with the version 1.8b13 and it's still NOT working properly. The URL part of any page is written wrong. For www.borijen.nl/lid-worden.html the contents of the OG:URL section look like this. <meta property="og:url" content="http:////lid-worden.html" /> So it's not due to my uploading, ftp connections or whatever but purely in some odd code that just isn't working it seems. Keep in mind I am using a localized version, not the US English version , so possibly that's of the issue here ? Peter |

| Is this bug still not fixable ? If not, then please add some button so I can turn this off as a whole and add the OG:URL info myself....right now I am facing odd behavior in FB due to double contents. | |

I sent you an email letting you know that your project file wouldn't open for me. If you can send it again using Dropbox, that would be helpful.

Paul I have the issue with every project file I have. I will send you another one. Yet I don't think the issue is in my files but in the app itself. |

Paul, I just installed 1.8 FC. It's clearly not Final Code as it's still buggy in the OG section. Loaded the most recent website and got this in the source code: The BOLD section is the OG section that EverWeb adds. <title> Radio Rijen • Home </title> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=900" /> <meta name="description" content="Radio Rijen • Het Internet radiostation voor Rijen en omgeving" /> <meta name="generator" content="EverWeb 1.8.0 (1381)" /> <meta name="buildDate" content="dinsdag 5 mei 2015" /> <meta property="og:url" content="http:////index.html" /> <meta property="og:title" content="Radio Rijen • Home" /> <meta property="og:description" content="Radio Rijen • Het Internet radiostation voor Rijen en omgeving" /> <meta property="og:image" content="http:////ewExternalFiles/rrlogo@2x.png" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="ew_css/textstyles.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="ew_js/imageCode.js"></script> --This section below is added by a Widget " FaceBook Preview Information , which clearly does a better job -- <meta property="og:image" content="ewExternalFiles/rrlogo@2x.png" /> <meta property="og:title" content="Radio Rijen" /> <meta property="og:description" content="Radio Rijen • Het Internet radiostation voor Rijen en omgeving" /> <meta property="og:url" content="http://www.radiorijen.nl/index.html" /> As you can see above the code from EverWeb itself with the OG:URL is wrong. This will result in bad links. The OG: IMAGE is also wrong ( in both cases by the way ) as that should also reference a full url. Also you should add this one too: <meta property="go:type" Content="website" /> Maybe you should check this link: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/ Enter www.radiorijen.nl in there and check the errors it reports ! Object at URL 'http://www.radiorijen.nl/' of type 'website' is invalid because the given value 'http:////index.html' for property 'og:url' could not be parsed as type 'url'. Hope this helps to track down the bug and squash it finally. Last edit 11 years ago |

I will take a look at your project shortly and see if I can reproduce the issue.
