When you visit a web site a web browser needs to download the code, images, media, style sheets and anything else needed to display the site. Downloading takes time so web browsers store some of the mentioned data on your hard drive and display that when you visit the same site.

If you change your site the browser doesn't immediately know so it uses the stored files from your previous visit.

You need to empty your cache so it doesn't do that and instead downloads the new files.

Does that make sense!?
