Hi Jeff, I'm looking at your account now. You aren't publishing your website correctly. For the 301 redirects to work you must publish to your EverWeb account directly and NOT use the FTP publishing feature in EverWeb. You should NEVER use the FTP publishing since you have a hosting account with us. So make sure you are signed into your account in EverWeb and select Publish to EverWeb from the EverWeb Publishing Settings Screen. To access the Publishing Settings Screen select your website on the left hand side of the EverWeb window above your web page list. Also, please don't cross post issues here and in the Facebook forums. That just creates a disorganized mess of questions and replies. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Thank you Paul. All the redirects are working now. I went to the Site Publishing Settings page, then to "File" in the upper menu bar, and hit "Publish Entire Site." Before that, I tried publishing with the Site Publishing Settings page open, then clicking the publish button in the lower left menu field. The redirects did not work on that attempt. So do I need to always publish from the two publish options under "file" in the upper menu? Last edit 12 years ago |

No, you shouldn't have to publish the entire site. Can you please verify that you were NOT using the publish to FTP feature?

Paul, I have never published to FTP as far as I know. My Site Publishing Settings have always looked this way: Publish To: EverWeb However, before last night I had never published with the Site Publishing Settings page open. In the past, I'd add something to an EverWeb page then hit the publish button at the bottom of the page. Would that make the site publish FTP? So is this correct: to make sure my site publishes to EverWeb I have to do it from the Site Publishing Settings page. Last edit 12 years ago |

It's Sunday night, and at least five of my blog entry redirects aren't working . . . again. I went back and published the same way I did yesterday (see above comment) and now they are working again. But obviously something still isn't right. |

Hi Jeff, We have discovered a bug with the 301 redirects and are working on a fix. In the meantime, use the Publish Entire Site option under the File menu to make sure they always work. Sorry for the inconvenience, we are working on a fix now. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Hi Jeff, The 1.3.1 Final Candidate version should fix all the 301 redirect errors now. You just need to download and publish, no other changes are needed. Let me know if you still have trouble ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Paul, I updated to the most recent 1.3 candidate version. This morning I checked on one of my former iWeb images and photoblog entries that ranked very high on Google (first page). I had redirected that URL to EverWeb. Today both the iWeb blog post and photos have disappeared from Google. That is the only problem URL for now. I see other iWeb redirects still on Google. If you change the page significantly so that it is no longer relevant to the keywords it ranks for than you may lose your rankings. Otherwise it could be a temporary issue... ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

My iWeb blog posts and photos which were ranked high on Google have disappeared after using EverWeb redirects. The EverWeb content was pretty much the same. Jeremy told me recently that RAGE is hoping to improve EverWeb photo SEO shortly. Thank you for your efforts. EverWeb is awesome. Once the photo SEO starts working as well as your iWeb SEO Tool did, this website builder will be absolutely fantastic. Last edit 12 years ago |
