WebCake --- and the icon can be a small piece of cake with a computer mouse attached to it. Thank you for all the submissions so far. Just a quick note for those who will be providing us with more submissions. What we are looking to do is clear away any potential confusion there might be with similar names. While some of the names submitted are good (such as WebCake), they are also unusable for many reasons - for example, WebCake is the name of a computer virus. Other reasons include the name being very similar to another website building application, or to a web hosting company. Let the brainstorming continue! |
MyWeb I like MyWeb because it is truly mine. Outside of that I liked WebRage that was posted earlier. I've been thinking about this this morning. It's occurred to me that one of the reasons I've not been so keen on the logo is the name. 'Easy' is synonymous with lazy. So while it might attract people who want a simple drag and drop web building program, professionals will be leery crediting their work to something that implies lazy or amateur. I guess that's why I'm drawn more to names that are less explicit (easy, simple, pro) and more to those that just sound catchy or offbeat (webcake, webcafe). My entry was going to be: spiderweb With a cool spider for a logo. But of course, a quick google search shows that it's been taken. This really is a challenging contest! ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |

It's not about the design software but rather the name "RAGE" that really matters in this case. General users (excluding the beta testers) who are looking for a solution to the increase of code based programs related to HTML 5's implementation don't care who is making the program just as long as it works. However, since the program is so closely related to iWeb, people / users will remember who made this software possible and available to the web design world. "RAGE" Rage is well known for creating software that allows easy understanding of internet / seo applications. So why would anyone want to change the name to anything other than "Rage _________________" Just fill in the blanks from here. Simple, Professional and Acute works best! Rage Web Site Designer........ Rage Web Designer........ HTML 5 Made Easy! Rage Web Designer........ HTML 5 Site Designer! Rage HTML 5 Web Design Software....... an Easy "Drag ... Drop iWeb Replacement! Rage HTML 5 Webpage Designer...... Hope this helps! |

I posted earlier with some suggestions but that post seems to have vanished. Anyway, the more I google, the more it seems all my good ideas have been taken (webkitchen, spidermonkey...). But not this one: CODEREAD[/color:1t3vx4sx] Other than that, it really is a subjective and personal thing, isn't it. Wait... what about a Roddy tribute? How bout: BraveWeb ------------------------------- rMBP 15", 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.11.6, with 27" Thunderbolt Cinema Display www.cleetche.com |
