Header code not working

User: Guest 12 years ago
Roddy, I do not have the code still there. As I said, I removed it when Paul said it wasn't needed. You might be looking at my iWeb version of the site.

Is it maybe what EasyWeb is adding on its own for the Google font to work? It would have to add it somewhere.

Sorry, that's what I meant when I said the header box is empty on each page. I understand there's a header to the page. I meant head code box for each page and for the site properties page as well. They are all empty.

The code is still there. Did you republish the whole site?

The code is disappearing from the box, but being added to the web page. When you add the code and then close EasyWeb, when you reopen EasyWeb the box is empty. What I'm finding is that that code has taken affect and now I can't edit it or remove it.

That would explain why you're seeing the Google font code on my pages. It applied it from when I had put that code in that site publishing properties page before and the code disappeared from the box, but is still on the pages. How can that be cleared?

I'll need you to send me your website project file then so I can take a look. Send it to https://billing.ragesw.com/submitticket.php

In the Projects window in EasyWeb, right click on your website and select the 'Show On Disk' option.

Please compress the project file before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. If the file is too big, you can upload it at http://ge.tt and send the link to me.

I'm not home right now to send it.

But let me ask this...

If I used a Google font on a web page, will the code for the Google font appear in the HTML when it's published? Or is the page somehow getting the font from the web another way?

Roddy is saying the code shouldn't be in the HTML, but it seems to me that it should be there.

EasyWeb inserts a tags into your site so that the font is downloaded from Google's servers and appears properly on your web page.

Nothing needs to be added by you when using a Google font.

Ok then I think that part of it is fine. The proper code is being added by EasyWeb, so it's not an issue of the head code disappearing but being applied.

It's just an issue of the head code disappearing from the head code box in the site publishing settings screen on a restart of the application.

Are you saving your website?

Do you have an EasyWeb account or are you publishing without one?

Yes, I'm saving the website.

No, I'm publishing without one and using a web host I already have.
