The discussion is here...

http://ragesw.net/easyweb-beta/viewtopic.php?f=6...t=1105

Admin have not commented about this nor is there any sign that it may be fixed - or at least some way to kill the directory link as I suggested in the top.

Hi!

I am finally finished with our Site via EasyWeb - totally transferred and in a little new design -
take a look and tell me, what you think about it.

I know - the texts are german - it's a german site ... <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

Nice :) The Impressum link at the bottom is not working though. And a very nice idea, what I read so far.

Thank you, Yelena. That's very helpful. Funny, when I go to the site on Safari, it works for me. But someone else complained about the same thing, so I've lengthened the box.

Roddy and Yelena, I have no idea what to do about the blank category pages in the drop down menu. Wish I did!. I can't make them active pages because the drop downs all come off the home page. I'm open to suggestions!

Christina,

I am not a wizard here - Roddy is....:) I think the trick is to disable them and he provided a link somewhere in this discussion. I myself simply filled those pages - not my preference but the easiest way to go about it at this particular time....

@Christina

You seem to have found the redirect code I posted but you didn't enter the name of the first page in the directory in place of "page-name.html"

See this topic for more info...

Thanks, Yelena. Roddy (always brilliant!) made a suggestion that has to be reinserted every time we publish. Highly annoying (which he recognizes). I think I might just put in some pictures in boxes that link to the pages of that particular subsection. Like a mini visual index of sorts.

Exactly! Much easier at this point....:)

Christina - The redirect code only needs to be inserted once - not every time you publish.

Have a look at quicktime in Easyweb using one of the templates (unrefined) to show how to place a QT movie on your site!

Works in all browsers with no HTML 5 hassle!

I think most people would want the movies to work on iPhone/iPad as well.

You can do this using QuickTime but it requires the Pro version to create the different size movie files and poster image.

The whole point in switching to HTML5 is that it doesn't require all that processor power (and therefore battery power in mobile devices) to run a plugin like QuickTime or Flash.

Unfortunately there is no "easy" solution to implement video on a website. You either need to upload at least two different file types or use flash fallback.

Ideally, you should upload four different sizes of movie in each file type and use media queries to select the appropriate one for each type of device!

Have a look her:

http://eugenelambweb.com/easyweb/quicktime/

works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Opera

There doesn't seem to be any problems at all!

Yes it works on your Mac because you have Quicktime installed on it.

If you don't have Quicktime installed than it won't work. Most Windows users and NON iOS users will not have QuickTime installed.
