Navigation Menu

New to EasyWeb-am enjoying its simplicity and ease of use. Great fun to use... Without a doubt, worth the wait. Two questions about the Navigation Menu... 1. I mistakenly monkeyed around with each Navigation Menu on different pages. To keep the menu consistent, could I select the one entire Navigation Menu-the one I want- then copy, and paste it on the other pages after deleting the old one? Does that make sense? Thought it best to check before I tried it... 2. Right now the different elements of the Navigation Menu are small rectangles. Is there a simple way to change the overall outer shape (not injecting a shape within their boundaries) of each of the rectangles to small ovals? Similarly can I put a small colored border around each one? I think when I tried it before, the border looked askew-never precisely going around the entire border. Thanks p.s. Don't do Forums much and noticed that my Forum question (re: em dashes) popped up three times. Wonder what I did since I don't recall repeatedly entering the question? |

You can go to Shape options in the inspector and change the shape to ovals. The border property won't work quite right in this version of EasyWeb though and it is recommended that you don't use it. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Thanks, that worked well! When I duplicated a page, however, then pasted it in to use as a template for another page, for some reason the entire Navigation Menu got screwed up on every page with the little rectangles all getting jammed up together. For now I'll try a workaround, maybe copy an extra Navigation Menu and paste it at the bottom of the page. |

| p.s. I see the problem. I've jammed together too many Navigation Menu topics (on one line) so there simply isn't enough space along the top line in the overall box. I need to figure out how to set up the Menu so it's centered but on two or three lines. Haven't figured out how to do it yet. Pressing the Return key doesn't seem do the trick... | |

Can you please show a screenshot of the problem you are seeing. You can take a screenshot by holding down the COMMAND and SHIFT keys on your keyboard and then pressing the number 3. An image file will appear on your desktop that you can attach to this forum. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Got the screenshots but unsure how to attach them in this Forum. For now I just copied and pasted them below but don't know if that works.. One shows the Nav Menu I edited, making topics short enough so all would fit. The other Menu shows the mixup that occurs when I get longer topic words / phrases. I don't know code, if that's involved... |

When replying to a message here it says Upload attachement underneath. Click that then choose file and then add the file.

Reduce the image size. You can do it by opening the image in Preview and going to Tools/Adjust image size.

They are rather small now! I usually make mine about 600 to 800px wide. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | Yes, they were small but it seemed when they were bigger, they weren't able to get through. Could I send them to via normal email? (I did send them to Paul that way.) | |

| As soon as I tried out the 800 width, I got the message, "The file is too big, maximum allow is 256 KB. (Did compress the file...) | |

Unsuccessfully tried to attach screenshots of Nav Menu. Compressed them, kept reducing their size as I got the notifications that my file was too big. Eventually it got it so small I don't think Roddy could read it! Finally have decided to do what I should have done in the first place-just send the Nav Menu by itself (COM/Shift/4) without all the other graphic stuff. Hope this works... Here, again, is the issue: Nav Menu works fine on one line if I use small words, small print, and don't use too many words. For this reason I'd like to do a menu that's centered with two or three lines. Haven't yet figured out how to create this effect using Line Height and Space before paragraph options. Hope I don't have to use code. If I must, I'll need a beginner's beginner manual! So here goes, another attempt to send 2 different Nav Menus. One looks okay because I've used tiny print. The other is a bunched-up mess. If once again this doesn't work, do let me know if I could send it to you via mail. Thanks for your patience... p.s. Don't know what the phrase "place inline" actually means but I've assumed that's how I place the file on this post? |
