Create an album / link to social networks

User: Guest 12 years ago
Hi,
I try Easyweb since yesterday and I'm very happy about it !
Just some remarks about the fact that it's not possible to make an album page like in iWeb. The new gallery system is great but it's sad that we can't do a page with some album.

Other question :
It's very cool to have widget for the social network, and the small logos are very cool ! But why isn't it possible to generate automatic link to our account in FB or Twitter directly on each logo for every page ?
If I clearly understand, we have to link each logo for every single page ?
And for example, if I use the sport club template, the small logo for FB, or Twitter couldn't be linked with a special link for FB or Twitter. It's possible if I select Insert/button/Twitter but the automatic generated logo isn't the same as the template.

I'm sorry for my english ! I try to be clear as much as possible ! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Well you can do this manually by creating a new page and adding an image to represent the album. Then just link that to your image gallery.

This is something we can consider adding.

Ok but visitors like very much the "scroll-image" on the album picture. It's a gadget but it works !

Another question or request, will It be possible to create a RSS feed automatically ? I have never succeeded to make it with iWeb... Too complicated

I don't know what this means, can you elaborate?

The OP is referring to the fact that you can scroll through thumbs in an album (when using an album template) before actually opening the album.

I always thought it was a kind of useless feature and never used the albums template because the page takes too long to load in the browsers if you have more than one or two albums with a bunch of photos in each.

I've seen iWeb photo album pages with over a 1000 images in them. I wonder if anybody ever looks at them all!

I think he means that you can kinda flip through a gallery by moving the mouse polnter slowly over the gallery reference picture like in iPhoto, when you hover over an album.

There are some free jquery scripts that do this actually and you could add them with an HTML Snippet. We will add something like this in a future version. I'd have to search some more to find them as I can't locate them right now.

Yes, you're right ! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
It's very long the load this but my visitors always talk about that with me... After all, it's a gadget.

Even if there is jqyery scripts for this, It would be very good to have a widget for a automatic scrolling picture on the first page.

Thank you for your answer

Testing the Beta v20, i Think you should create an "Twitter-option" and "Facebook-option" in the hyperlink menu "Link To". It would be easy to link the pictures of social network.

I have only looked at the program briefly but album pages was one of our favorite features. We used them a lot as we post pictures of our babies (twins) weekly and we were able to drop the folder into iWeb thus saving us a lot of time other than some manually editing. I know I could add pics but when you have 50 or more that becomes rather tiresome.

You can drop picture files into EasyWeb and create an Image Gallery. The original poster was asking for something a little more specific. See the Image Gallery widget.

Is there a limit to drag and drop. I just tried dropping in a bunch of photos at low res and it caused a runtime error and crashed. I am using a retina display macbook pro with 16 b of memory so I don't think it is my computer.

No there isn't a limit.

If you can reproduce this as well as let me know exactly what you did to get this error, and what the error message says, I can test it here and hopefully get it fixed.
