Viewing Remove Image Background

Remove Image Background

User: Nigel J. 12 years ago
Is there a function on easyweb that will remove backgound from an image? Example - home button in a square white background.

I have found a rout to do this via PowerPoint image formatting - remove background; i.e.: reformat in Powerpoint then copy and past to iWeb, then copy from iweb to easy web.

If I go directly from PowerPoint to EasyWeb the image pasts with its background.

Although I have found a way to do this, I thought it would be a useful feature to include if it's not already there.

Cheers.

I believe it has been suggested that an instant alpha feature will be added to EasyWeb at some point since iWeb had this feature.

It's really quick and simple to do this with Preview.app and then drag the resulting PNG into EasyWeb.

I wish EasyWeb to have this feature build-in.

While you may consider it essential, others don't.

Sure, but everybody believe that EW should push itself to be much better than iWeb.

There's actually quite a large list of features in iWeb that I never used and don't consider appropriate for a web design app.

If you add too many features that are only used occasionally- or not at all - the UI becomes so crowded that it becomes difficult to learn and use efficiently.

I didn't know you could do that with 'preview'. There are a lot of things that can be done with the software that comes with every Mac I have no clue of. I could use a book of all that stuff to refer to.

I pretty much agree. When using photos I'd rather do all the sizing/formatting/etc. prior to adding them to EasyWeb. It just makes for cleaner and better work. I just wish I knew all the things available but then,,, that takes some study, reading and remembering. I'm not good at that.

Preview is a very smart piece of software and has a lot better image manipulation tools than either iWork or iWeb.

I just wonder why people would want EasyWeb to include features that they already have on their Macs. It's not like they have to go out and buy it!

The Instant Alpha feature in iWeb is key to removing partial backgrounds and unwanted sections to images. I found this a valuable tool when using iWeb and it would be a shame for it not to be included with Easy Web.
Can it be done in other software? Of course, but the fact that I can do it on the fly right in my web editor is essential to the way I use the software. It should be included.
