We are excited to announce that EverWeb 4.5 is now ready for public beta testing for existing EverWeb clients. This is one of the biggest EverWeb updates we have released, with a lot of new features, improvements, and design tools that give you much more flexibility when building responsive websites. Before testing, please make a backup copy of your EverWeb project file and use the backup with the beta. Since this is beta software, we do not recommend using your only copy of an important project. You can download the EverWeb 4.5 Public Beta from your EverWeb Client Area: EverWeb 4.5 Public Beta To find it manually, log in to your client area, then go to: Support Menu > Downloads > EverWeb Beta You will see beta downloads for both macOS and Windows. Some of the biggest new features in EverWeb 4.5 include: Object Pinning and Free Drag Improvements You can now pin objects to the edge of the browser window or to a parent Container using pixel or percentage values. This makes it much easier to place objects exactly where you want them while still keeping your page responsive. Containers using Column or Row layouts also now support free drag objects, which opens up a lot more design possibilities. All New Carousel Widget The new Carousel widget lets you create responsive, horizontally scrolling sections with almost any content inside each slide, including text, images, videos, buttons, and other widgets. It includes autoplay, loop mode, center mode, and manual sliding. Fully Customizable Popup Windows Popup Windows now have many more options. You can trigger them on page load, after a delay, at a scroll position, or with Mouse Click Actions. They also support animations, flexible positioning, and SVG mask effects. Mouse Click Actions You can now assign interactive actions to shapes, including show, hide, toggle, play or stop videos, control sliders, and open popups. You can also chain multiple actions together with timed delays. HTML Code Widget iframe Mode The HTML Code Widget can now be inserted as an iframe. This helps isolate custom HTML from the rest of the page, so code in one widget is less likely to affect other parts of your website. Background Gradients and SVG Masks You can apply gradients and SVG image masks to shapes for more creative design effects. These also work with Popup Windows. Image Focus Area and Optimization When using Scale to Fill image mode, you can now set a focus area so EverWeb knows which part of the image should stay visible as it crops across different breakpoints. EverWeb can also optimize images per breakpoint for better design control and faster page loading. Object Naming and Labels Every object can now have a custom name, making it much easier to manage larger and more complex pages. You can set names from the Inspector, by double-clicking the label, or through the right-click menu. Project State Memory EverWeb now remembers more about how your project was last opened, including window size, open folders, selected page, and splitter positions. This makes it easier to pick up right where you left off. We are really proud of this release and would love your feedback before the final version is released. Please download the beta, test it with a backup copy of your project, and let us know what you think. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
