I want to put text onto a response page so that it is displayed in three columns. I would like it to resize down to two columns and eventually one column based on the size of device (or browser window size). How do I do that? Thanks, LC |

Hi Les, Thanks for reaching out! To create a multi-column layout that adjusts based on screen size in a responsive page, you can use Responsive Row widgets in EverWeb. Here's how to set up a three-column layout that automatically stacks into two or one column on smaller screens: 1. Drag a Responsive Row onto your page. 2. Inside the Responsive Row, add three TextBox widgets (or other content like images). 3. Select each TextBox and turn "Full Width" on in the Inspector. 4. Set the Maximum Width for each item (e.g. around 30% for three columns). To control spacing, you can either add left/right margins to each object, or select the Responsive Row, go to Inspector > Widget Settings, and use Inset Margin. 5. Set a Content Maximum Width for Responsive Row by going to Responsive Row's Widget Settings 6. As the screen size shrinks, EverWeb will automatically stack the columns into two or one depending on the available space. Tip: To test how it looks on mobile, use the Preview QR Code option to view the layout on your mobile device. Thanks for your reply. I see how that process can work for three separate texts, but not for a single text that breaks into three columns, then two, then one. Am I missing something here? LC |

Hi Les, Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, a single TextBox cannot support multiple columns of text. To achieve the layout you're looking for, you'll need to use multiple TextBoxes. This allows the Responsive Row widget to recognize and treat each TextBox individually, making it possible to display them as three, two, or one column per row depending on the screen size. I ran a test following your instructions and found that each column centers vertically in the responsive row. I tried using the Arrange/Align Objects/Top adjustment—no change. How do I get each column to display its corresponding text box to align top? (That should really be the default.) Thanks. LC Last edit one year ago |

Also, I need to put a drop cap inside the first text box. Can I put a text box inside a text box in a responsive page? I can in a non-responsive page. If so, please tell me how to do it. If not, please provided instructions on how to insert a drop cap to the first letter of the first word in the first column. Thanks. LC |
