I'm just a little curious. When I changed from a 3rd party webhost to EverWeb hosting a year ago, I imagined that would be the end of needing to upload project files to support. But clearly not.

Can you (support team) not just go to the server to access my site data? Is it down to privacy considerations? If so, couldn't I just sign something to authorise you to access [and even edit] my data? It just seems a little silly (not to mention a waste of bandwidth) for clients to need to upload a pile of data that's already there ...

Hi Lance

It's a good question... the EverWeb Project file is stored on your local hard disk by default, so the support team usually will need to look at this file to discover what issues it may have that need resolving. Publishing the project file will process and publish your EverWeb project into files to the Internet for the world to see. So to solve issues, it's usually better to look at the project file (the source of your website) rather than the published results (on the Internet)

thanks for your question.

The files uploaded to the server differ in their structure from the project file that you have in Everweb. Therefore, in order for us to help you with your project, you should send us the project itself. It is not possible to import a published website from online back to EverWeb.
