Viewing pictures scaling small during drag and drop

pictures scaling small during drag and drop

When I drag a photo into the canvas, they're scaled super small. I have to change it back to Original size. I don't think it did this in the previous beta. Should just default to original size, shouldn't it?

Hi Chris,

We changed this because this is how iWeb did it too. If the picture is too large it's hard to work with.

I still find it highly annoying that I have to first set my X/Y coordinates, then hit Original Size, every time I bring in a photo that's considered too big. And sometimes, like just now, if I then change the X/Y again, the photo again reduces in size! So I have to go back to the Shapes section, hit Original Size one more time, then back to Metrics and hope my X/Y sticks. It's a lot of workaround to supposedly make things 'easier' for people.

For those of us who size our photos in an external editor, it'd be preferable if we could disable the automatic resizing feature. Perhaps in Preferences, or in the Shapes pane. What do you think?

I'm with Christopher here. I'm one of the few (?) that prepares graphics and images with an external editor in the size(s) I use them on my webpage. So that'd would really be a good option.

Are some people so clueless that they would try to load an image that is wider then the web page?

Couldn't you have a popup saying, "Common sense has not prevailed, please try again!".

Post people have no idea how big their images are. They just want to put it on their website. EasyWeb takes care of most of the tedious work, including resizing it.

We may put an option for this or just resize the image only if the width is larger than the website.
