Viewing Photoframe transparent
Photoframe transparent

| When using the 'photoframe with shadow' frame choice for a graphic, the white area becomes transparent when overlaid. Also shadow and reflection emanate from within the frame on the original image as it was before the 'photoframe' was introduced- very odd! | |

Can you post some screenshots of what you mean so I can better understand the problem?

Photo effects are added to the image. What you are trying to do is add an effect to an effect. In other words you are trying to add a box shadow to the picture frame rather than the image which doesn't really make sense. Note that the "picture frame" effect already has a box shadow added to it so why would you want two box shadows? ![]() Adding effects to images in your web design app is bad practice. These should be added before hand using a suitable image manipulation software. Here's why... The image I posted above has a file size of 32Kb. Both the image required for the box shadow and the one for the picture frame effect both have a file size of about 8Kb. Therefore, every time you add these effects you are increasing the relative image size by 50%. Do this a few times on a web page and you will wonder why it is downloading as slow as treacle. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I accept what you say Roddy about the shadow, I just used the shadow as an illustration of the problem, rather than suggesting that it be used for publishing. However, the problem exists with 'reflections' effect too and also the frame is transparent - see example image. Anything behind the 'frame' is visible. |

Quote: Anything behind the 'frame' is visible I think that's the idea of this particular frame. Try it on a colored background and you will see what I mean. Presumably there are more frames to come as the app is developed. There's no such thing as a reflection in web design. This is an image manipulation technique and should be done prior to loading the image into your web design app. If you want to add effects to an image in a web design app you should use the <img> tag in a Snippet and add the effects using the rules of CSS3... http://roddymckay.com/EasyWeb/test/image.html ... if you want a website that doesn't just look the part but performs well in the browser. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
