Easyweb stalls when publishing

User: nigellionheart 12 years ago
Hi,
I have published my site to a local folder, which seems to be fine, but I have tried publishing for the first time to Easyweb, and it just gets 'stuc'k after the intial loading, it scrolls through the files to a certain point and then stays in the same place, I'm not sure how long it would normally take to upload a website as I haven't done this before, but suspect that it shouldn't be stuck for more than 20 -30 mins in the same spot? any suggestions thanks.

No it shouldn't get stuck.

I'll need you to send me your website project file then so I can take a look. Send it to https://billing.ragesw.com/submitticket.php

You can find it at;

username/Library/Application Support/EasyWeb

Note: If you don't see the Library Folder hold down the option Key on your keyboard and select the Go menu at the top of your screen. You will then see Library listed.

Please compress it before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. If the file is too big, you can upload it at http://ge.tt and send the link to me.

Thanks Paul
Hopefully I've sent the project file correctly, and as you instructed through GET.TT you were right, I compressed it, but it was still too big to email. Let me know if you received it ok, I haven't used a dropbox before.If not I'll try again.
It may well be I am using the wrong tools on Easyweb, so its probably my doing, but I wanted to see how it looked published, I have successfully published to a local file, but it was getting stuck when publishing to the Easyweb server, and in the same place each time so I thought maybe one of the pages I'd created was causing it, so I deleted that, (and related links), and tried again, but it still got stuck on another directory/page. I am really new to web building, and pretty much computer illiterate, so I think its possible its something I have wrongly applied. As you can see by the website we work in a very antiquated way, lol! But I really would like to get this website online. Hope you can help. Many thanks.

Hi Paul,

Just wondered if you have recieved the Easyweb zip file from GE.TT yet, and had chance to look at my website publishing problem, as I really would like to get this sorted. Its been two days, and I cant get any further with it.
Thanks very much.

No worries, I managed to publish it anyway through trial and error, I removed image galleries and files it seemed to be sticking on, not sure specifically what was causing the issues, but I published in the end, I then had to recreate the pages I had deleted. It all seems ok now apart from the contact forms, I did a test message, but I'm not getting any through to my mail, any suggestions why? I have created an email account, and linked it up to my mac mail account and it seems to receive and send messages from other accounts.
Thanks.
