The problem is that these are not really frames. They are extra PNG images placed behind the actual image. The image file is animated but the frame image is not. These kind of "frames" really have no place in modern web design where we can use CSS to create effects and cut out the extra PNGs that slow the web page download time. They should certainly never be used on the mobile version of the site. Here's an example of a widget which creates a box shadow and a bottom drop shadow using CSS.
