Viewing Pre-publishing Testing

Pre-publishing Testing

User: Roddy 12 years ago
While I'm thinking about website testing, I would like to point out one really negative factor that will come into play when it comes to the point where EasyWeb sites cannot be publish locally to test them.

Many times, while I am carrying out daring website experiments, things don't go according to plan. Imagine that I had to upload one of these disasters to see the error of my ways and, while doing so, a few visitors chanced upon my website. What then?

I almost always test locally before uploading - especially for client sites where the above scenario can - and does - happen.

If we are going to lose the ability to test locally eventually, is there a way to create a test area on the EasyWeb server to help prevent me looking more foolish than I actually am?

Hi Roddy,

As long as you have an account, you will be able to publish to a folder even when EasyWeb is out of beta.

Also, you can always publish a test site by specifying a site name when publishing.

Well that's good news. I get kind of grumpy when I can't preview almost instantly. That's one of the things I really like about WebDesign.app.
