The magic of master pages is that every change you make on the master page (where you e.g. only have a header with a logo and the menu and maybe a footer with a copyright and other stuff) reflects on all other pages that were created using the master. Changing the header/footer on the master page will automatically have all headers and footers changed on all other pages, without touching the content that each individual page hast (which doesn't belong to a master page).
