Stumbled on this while leading up to restoring from backup to replace a damaged site file - with the help of support here. At one point I was asked to delete unused assets. I have blog postings – now 400 converted over – set on Image at Top with the image chosen from assets. "Find Unused Assets" disconnected all 400 and identified those images as unused – offering to delete them – every one disappeared from the blog posting even though the check mark remained in the setting. This forces one to either restore from backup or reconnect all images slated for top of Blog by unchecking and rechecking. Not an issue if images are dragged in and not using the "post image" setting. I then, on my laptop to keep from screwing up things even further, tried this on multiple backups with the same results. Do NOT search for unused assets if using the "Post Image" settings for your blog. Also - it is a real inconvenience that once images are drag-placed in the blog posting, selecting it neither registers that selection in assets or gives you the name of the file so you can find it again. |
