It would appear that when a shadow is applied to an object (such as an image), the shadow effect is applied to the set dimensions of the image (say, 100 x 150) rather than taking into account any frame that has been applied to that object. The correct behavior would be for the shadow to be applied to object plus the frame dimension (as would be the case if the sun were casting a shadow from the frame around a picture, rather then the picture inside the frame). To illustrate, place an image onto a page. Set a shadow with rotation = 315, offset = 6, blur = 10, opacity =75 Add a picture frame stroke You'll see that the frame actually covers the shadow rather than having the shadow extended to the new dimensions of the image plus the surrounding frame. See the two attached images, one of which shows an image with a shadow applied, then that same image with a frame and shadow applied. |
