Viewing Replace a Page

Replace a Page

User: Liane O. 7 years ago
I'm trying to create a new version of an existing page by duplicating it and then editing the copy.

The intention being that when I've finished with the edits, I replace the old version of the page with the new one.

My question is, how can I do that without all links to the original page then becoming un-linked from the menus on all of my other pages and subsequently the whole website needs a republish?

Keen to avoid that due to very slow upload speeds and multiple 'dropped connection' errors that I've experienced since upgrading to Everweb 2.0.

Thanks in anticipation.

Delete the original page and rename the copy with the same file name as the original. Make sure you update the title, description and navigation display name in the Page inspector.

Thanks for the reply Roddy. I forgot to mention that my menu is not an Everweb navigation menu.

It's essentially a styled text box with hyperlinks to my own webpages - used because I didn't want to be limited to Everweb's styling for menus. I just tried what you suggested and, as I suspected, the links all broke and defaulted to the 'First' page.

Is there anything else I could do?

Hi Liane,

The best thing to do would be to delete everything on the old page and copy and paste all objects from the new page to the old page.
