I'm trying to create a website that works on all the platforms. EverWeb seems to work great if I keep everythingt within the 'page'. Using the Full Width Browser Background works just fine on computers, but doesn't work on tablets or iPhones. I'm wondering if there isn't just a bit of tweaking in the coding that could fix this? Roddy's Full Width Background works fine, mirroring what's on the computer & the tablet. I haven't tried it on the iPhone yet. |

This is not an answer - just a comment. Full size, responsive background images aren't a good idea on any website from the point of view of download efficient. They should never be used on a smart phone site since they will burn up visitors data limits downloading an oversized image which will only serve to impair readability. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Thank you Roddy. I did discover that your full width background DOES actually translate to the iPhone (width 780 pixels) ... so my 780 width computer/tablet website is more or less identical on computer and tablet, and the background picture is a bit zoomed-in-on on the iPhone. So I will use it as the computer/tablet version, but route to another simplified version for the iPhone. I hadn't thought about data limits. Much appreciated, Ben |
