Just wondering if you've looked into "Stripe" a payment tool, and if it's possible to integrate it with EW... Or any others besides PayPal. https://stripe.com thx steve ------------------------------- MacBook Pro 15in Retina 10.14.6 Nevada, U.S.A Apple since OS 7.1 LE II (pizza box) |

| Not sure what the benefits of using this would be compared to paypal. I suppose you could set up the account and add the payment option as a html snippet. You could also use Roddys widgets, they're pretty good and what I use on ocbusinesscards.com. They're at: http://everwebcodebox.com/widgetbox3/ecommerce/widgets.html Hope that Helps. | |

Stripe is a lot more sophisticated than PayPal in that it can handle subscriptions, memorise customer card details etc. The pricing is competitive although not so much for me as I would be charged more for transactions using non-european cards. I think the main downside to using a system other than PayPal is that so many potential customers prefer using PayPal for online purchases. It is way faster and it's easier to get your money back if something goes wrong. As a consumer, I would always purchase from a site offering PayPal as a payment method -rather than one that didn't - all other things being equal of course. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I should have mentioned why I wouldn't consider using Stripe and what alternative there is. I use PayPal in conjunction with E-Junkie who do the digital distribution. They do not integrate with Stripe - for various reasons - so it is not an option for me. I could use 2CHECKOUT which has the advantage over Stripe of processing Credit and Debit Cards and PayPal. 2Checkout supports transactions in 196 countries through 8 payment methods, 26 currencies, and 15 languages. You would need to check out their pricing for your country and compare it with PayPal to see if the increased cost is worth it. PayPal has a number of advantages for startups, small and part time businesses in that it can be used to keep the finances separate from personal ones without having to open yet another bank account. Once they see that you are earning money, they will offer to lend it to you which may be a better option in some cases to a bank loan. As far as integrating another payment option into EverWeb is concerned, I wouldn't imagine its worth while. The PayPal widgets are OK for a small business with a few products but, once you get beyond the startup stage, you should be looking at a Web Store option. These can be integrated into your EverWeb site in various ways and have the advantage of being full featured and also create responsive pages which will work propely on all device types. Although I have used ECWID as an example, it shouldn't be too dificult to do the same kind of thing with any of the other more popular ones. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
